InsightVideo Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of InsightVideo, including our mobile applications, desktop applications, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
InsightVideo uses artificial intelligence and related technologies to process eligible YouTube video information and available transcripts. Current features may include AI-generated summaries, structured timelines, and PDF export. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features, including planned subscription and Knowledge Library features, at any time.
The Service is an independent productivity tool. InsightVideo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. Your use of YouTube remains subject to YouTube's applicable terms and policies.
3. AI Disclaimer
Content generated by the Service, including summaries, timelines, titles, notes, and PDF reports ("AI Output"), is produced automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misleading, or unsuitable for your intended purpose. AI Output does not represent the views of InsightVideo and is not a substitute for reviewing the original video or source material.
You are solely responsible for evaluating AI Output before using or sharing it. Do not rely on the Service for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or other professional decisions. We do not guarantee that timestamps, quotations, factual statements, translations, or conclusions are correct.
4. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for the YouTube links you submit, your use of AI Output, and all activity conducted through your device or account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information where requested and keep account credentials secure.
- Use the Service only when you have a lawful right to process the relevant content.
- Review AI Output before relying on, publishing, or distributing it.
- Comply with applicable laws, these Terms, and third-party platform terms.
5. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to:
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights.
- Process or distribute unlawful, abusive, deceptive, harmful, or exploitative content.
- Bypass usage limits, access controls, security measures, or subscription requirements.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, probe, overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure, except where such restrictions are prohibited by law.
- Use automated means to access the Service at a volume inconsistent with ordinary personal use without our written permission.
- Misrepresent AI Output as verified, original source material, or human-authored analysis when doing so could mislead others.
We may restrict or terminate access when we reasonably believe use of the Service violates these Terms, creates legal or security risk, or harms the Service or others.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, interfaces, and proprietary technology, is owned by InsightVideo or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for its intended purpose.
InsightVideo does not claim ownership of the underlying videos, transcripts, titles, thumbnails, or other third-party content. Those materials remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.
As between you and InsightVideo, and to the extent permitted by law, you may use AI Output generated for you. AI Output may not be unique, and other users may receive similar output. Your rights in AI Output remain subject to applicable law and any rights in the underlying source material.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party platforms and providers, which may include YouTube, artificial intelligence providers, cloud infrastructure providers, Apple, Google Play, and payment or subscription management services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, content, availability, policies, or actions. Your use of those services may be governed by separate terms.
8. Service Availability and Changes
We aim to provide a reliable Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation. Video metadata, transcripts, AI providers, network conditions, regional restrictions, maintenance, and third-party outages may affect availability or results.
We may impose or change reasonable technical and usage limits, release updates, require supported app versions, or modify features to protect the Service, control costs, comply with law, or improve the product. We are not liable for loss of locally stored summaries, PDFs, account data, or access resulting from device failure, deletion, service changes, or third-party systems. You should retain copies of information you need.
9. Future Subscription Terms
InsightVideo may offer paid subscriptions or other purchases in the future. Before you purchase, the applicable storefront will display the price, billing period, included features, and any trial terms. Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions automatically renew until canceled through the platform where you purchased them.
Apple App Store and Google Play purchases are billed and administered by the applicable platform. You may manage or cancel a subscription through your platform account settings. Cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds, taxes, price changes, payment failures, and renewal notices are governed by applicable law and the policies of the relevant storefront. Deleting the app or your InsightVideo account does not automatically cancel a subscription.
We may change subscription features or pricing prospectively. Any material pricing change will apply in accordance with applicable platform requirements and law.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL AI OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." INSIGHTVIDEO DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE CORRECT, COMPLETE, OR AVAILABLE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INSIGHTVIDEO AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, CONTENT, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR AI OUTPUT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO INSIGHTVIDEO FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
12. App Marketplace Terms
If you download the Service through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the applicable marketplace terms also apply. The marketplace provider is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for the Service except as required by law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to the iOS or macOS application and may enforce the applicable provisions against you.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if operation of the Service is no longer commercially or technically feasible. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and payment obligations.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post the revised Terms and update the effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent. Continued use of the Service after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
